Cardiff City Football Club is delighted to announce the appointment of Erol Bulut as First Team Manager. With over 25 years of experience at the top levels of European football as both a player and manager, the 48-year-old has signed a deal at Cardiff City Stadium and will meet Club staff and media for the first time on Monday afternoon. Born in Germany, Erol began his playing career at Eintracht Frankfurt having come through the Bundesliga club’s Academy, later winning major national honours playing for the likes of Fenerbahçe and Olympiacos and representing both clubs in the UEFA Champions League. He enjoyed multiple trophy successes as a player, before moving into management in 2017. After guiding Yeni Malatyaspor to a club-record high fifth-place finish in the Turkish Süper Lig in 2019 and reaching the UEFA Europa League qualifying stages, Erol joined Alyanaspor, leading them to their first domestic Cup Final and, again, the Europa League qualifying stages. He was approached and recruited by former club and European heavyweight Fenerbahçe in 2020, winning 21 of his 34 matches in charge and securing the club’s highest recorded away win percentage. A man has been ordered to pay £1,620 after being filmed slashing a tyre on a police vehicle by the same truck's onboard camera system. CCTV shows him walking toward the vehicle with what looks like a yellow utility knife. Dramatic new footage has emerged appearing to show police following an e-bike moments before a crash in which two teenagers were killed, sparking a riot in Cardiff. The family believe the police van chased the boys across the estate in the Ely area of the Welsh capital. They think that the boys lost the police by riding through bollards shortly after the scene captured in the new CCTV footage. Police say they are 'continuing to investigate' CCTV footage which appears to show a police van following a bike. Speaking at a press conference on Tuesday, Divisional Commander for Cardiff & The Vale, Chief Superintendent Martyn Stone, said there were no police vehicles on the road at the time of the fatal crash on Monday night. Kyrees Sullivan, 16, and 15-year-old Harvey Evans were killed in the Ely area of Cardiff on Monday evening while riding an electric bike. CCTV footage time-stamped to 5:59pm on Monday appears to show a police van following two people on a bike. South Wales police are reviewing footage which appears to show a police vehicle pursuing an e-bike in Cardiff - shortly before a crash which left two teenage boys dead. We started off with local Welsh beer and tea while ordering two different starters, a main dish and dessert to share between the two of us. The 4 different food items we tried were as follows: 1) Cawl (traditional Welsh soup) 2) Welsh Rarebit (melted cheese on sliced toast) 3) Faggots, gravy, mashed potatoes and peas 4) Rhubarb Crumble (sweet dessert with fruit) All of it was delicious and to be honest the starters were the size of mains and we ended up feeling rather stuffed by the end of the meal. Welsh is a very complicated language. We've been here like almost a week and we haven't really tried Welsh food yet aside from Welsh cakes so we're like alright it is time to see what Welsh food is all about. We've been sick and haven't been doing a whole lot. We ordered two starters, one main, dessert, Sam got a pint. We're going to be sampling all things Welsh. Welsh food. All of it is local this is basically a Welsh food taste test. Alright Sam, so I'm starting off with a pint. A pint. So this is I think uh Cwrw Y Mochyn Du. This is the local red ale beer and I'm so excited to try this. And we think Cwrw means bore. It has a picture of a black pig. This is really nice beer. It has that kind of like craft beer taste. Well, well for our appetizer we're starting off with the National Dish of Wales. We are having Cawl and when Sam ordered this he was like I'll have a bowl of Cawl. This is kind of like a soup. What is here? Slash stew. I was reading about it online and it can have different ingredients. So the classic usually has lamb and leeks but it can also have beef and potatoes, carrots like different seasonal vegetables. So yeah, this one has potato and carrots. I don't know if this is lamb or beef yet. Okay, what is your appetizer? So next up we're having Welsh Rarebit. Not rabbit. Rarebit. Rarebit. I can assure you there is no rabbit in here. No rabbit. Basically it is kind of it looks like a gourmet piece of toast with cheese and bacon. Cheese melted over top. It can be cheese or a cheese sauce apparently. I'm not sure if it is cheese or a cheese sauce. It could be maybe it is both. And it came with a little side salad and something to dip I think. I'm going to dip it in. That is so good. The cheese is like it is really it has like kind of a creamy consistency. Mmmm. It is so tasty. You know I read that sometimes it can have Béchamel sauce. Going in for the Welsh Rarebit not rabbit. Look at the cheese it is just melting off. The main dish has arrived so this is Welsh Faggots and mushy peas and we have two giant like these are minced meat balls and apparently they have um lamb in them. Over here you can obviously see the mushy peas, you can see the mashed potatoes. Lots of onion gravy. We were asking the bartender what is the most typical dessert we could order at a Welsh pub? And he was like Rhubarb crumble. Anyways, on to price point. In total that came to 26 Quid and that included the two drinks, the pint. And the tea. The two appetizers which were more like mains. The main which was like a massive main and then an enormous dessert to share. It was 13 per person and we're leaving very full, very satisfied and we really enjoyed Welsh food and we would highly recommend you to try all of these dishes if you're visiting Wales. At least 12 police officers have been injured after rioters hurled missiles, including fireworks, in chaos that ensued throughout the night. Footage has emerged that appears to show two people on an electric bike being followed by a police vehicle moments before a fatal crash that killed two teenagers in Cardiff. On Tuesday morning, the local police and crime commissioner blamed the unrest on false 'rumours' on social media about police involvement in the boys’ deaths. Police officers faced hours of disorder, with rioters throwing missiles including fireworks at them. Cars were set alight as trouble involving scores of masked youths flared through the night. I start the video in Pontypridd Rail Station after some initial travel disruption and when I arrive in Cardiff centre, via Queen St Rail station, I am STARVING! LIVE FOOTBALL | Cardiff Met v Haverfordwest County | JD Cymru Premier play-off semi-final Cardiff Met (4th) v Haverfordwest County (7th) | Saturday – 17:15 (S4C) Whilst the experienced old heads of Bala Town and Newtown would have expected a European spot at the start of the campaign, not many would have predicted that Cardiff Met and Haverfordwest County would be in the draw in Geneva. Cardiff Met finished 7th last season, and after the departure of long-term manager Dr Christian Edwards over the summer there were doubts that the Archers could still compete amongst the elite in Wales. But under newly appointed boss Ryan Jenkins, and with Edwards returning to his post after the split, Cardiff Met have secured their highest ever finish (4th), and on paper they will be favourites to win the play-offs to reach Europe for the first time in three years. Haverfordwest County ended last season just one place above the relegation zone, but the club have been busy improving on and off the pitch and the results are clear to see as the Bluebirds have finished 7th, which is their highest position since 2008/09, and will compete in the play-offs for the first time ever. The Pembrokeshire bunch have only qualified for Europe once in the past, as they lost 4-1 on aggregate to Icelandic side Fimleikafélag Hafnarfjarðar after finishing 3rd in 2003/04. Tony Pennock’s team will take confidence from the fact that the 7th placed finishers have won three out of the 11 previous play-off competitions – and it’s their three challengers this year who were triumphant on those occasions (Bala Town 12/13, Cardiff Met 18/19, Newtown 20/21). If ‘momentum’ is the key, then Haverfordwest County certainly have it on their side as they’re unbeaten in their last seven outings (won five, drawn two). But history backs the Archers as Cardiff Met have won four of their previous five meetings with the Bluebirds.
